Repeat after me:

“I’m smart enough. I’m good enough…and doggone it people like me.”

Now say it again. This time with meaning.

“I’m smart enough. I’m good enough…and doggone it people like me.”

Positive affirmations seem like a load of junk…but are they actually meaningful. Why do so many successful individuals swear by this practice? How do I do this without feeling like an absolute fool?

Jerrod decided he needed more. It seemed as if he was in a great place, but he knew he needed more. He was the director of Believing in a Better Way, a successful non-profit, and he was trying to sell 100,000 T-Shirts for Haitian orphans.

On the outside he appeared like a monumental success. On the inside he wasn’t feeling it. He had started to feel down on himself and his lack of success. He began to think negatively and began to speak negatively. He woek up one day and realized he spoke way to harshly to himself.

But that seemed ridiculous. Standing in front of a mirror in his green sweater talking to himself made him feel silly. He wanted something different. He wanted to speak positively into his life, but this just didn’t seem right.

He took a page from The Success Principles from Jack Canfield and found something more meaningful. He followed Jack’s advice and gave it a chance.

Positive Affirmations Actually Make a Difference

Sorta. They don’t create magical change in your life. They help place you in the right mindset for positive growth. Follow these rules while you create your list:

1. Take the condition you desire and declare to already be true.

2. Be positive instead of negative (celebrate the victory instead of past defeat).

3. Be concise.

4. Include action and action words.

5. Include a feeling words. For a more potent affirmation include how you want to feel.
